"Diya, I've kept an extra packet of biscuits. Don't eat them completely alone, share some, with your friends" said Priya, Diya's mom. Diya was sitting quietly, in the bus stop with her mom beside, with her backpack on her lap, resting her head on the bag and swinging her legs that didn't touch the ground. "Diya!" called her mom, she nodded affirmatively without lifting her head. Priya looked at the busy road awaiting Diya's school bus.
A shabby young woman came begging with her toddler soon on her hip. She neared Priya and Diya. "Pcchh… go away" said Priya looking at the floor while Diya, without a second thought, within a fraction of second as the beggar woman arrived near them opened her bag and took out a biscuit packet and handed her. Priya slowly took a gaze of her daughter's eyes and the school bus arrived.
